Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Development & Enhancements: 
•    Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for ABAP development.
•    Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements (user exits, BADIs), and forms (Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, SAP Script). 
•    Work on ODATA services, CDS views, and Fiori applications (if applicable). 
•    Develop and modify ALV reports, Dialog programs, and Module Pool programming. 
•    Enhance standard SAP functionalities using customer exits, BADIs, and enhancement frameworks. 
2. Bug Fixes & Incident Management:
•    Investigate and resolve production issues, defects, and bugs in SAP ABAP programs. 
•    Provide root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement long-term fixes 
•    Work on priority tickets (P1/P2) and ensure SLAs are met in an AMS environment.
•    Perform debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of existing ABAP code.
3. Integration & Interfaces: 
•    Develop and maintain RFC, BAPI, IDoc, and Proxy-based interfaces between SAP and external systems.
•    Work on EDI, ALE, and PI/PO integrations (if applicable). 
•    Troubleshoot and fix issues related to interfaces and data transfers. 
4. Support & Maintenance:
 
•    Provide L2/L3 support for SAP ABAP-related issues in an AMS setup.
•    Perform code reviews, quality checks, and documentation of changes.
•    Collaborate with functional consultants (MM, SD, FI, CO, PP, etc.) to understand business processes and provide technical solutions. 
5. Upgrades & Performance Optimization: 
•    Assist in SAP version upgrades, S/4HANA migrations, and Unicode conversions (if applicable). 
•    Identify and fix performance bottlenecks in ABAP programs and database queries. 
•    Optimize existing code to improve system efficiency. 
6. Compliance & Best Practices: 
•    Follow SAP coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
•    Ensure compliance with change management (transport requests) and release processes. 
•    Maintain proper documentation for all developments and modifications. 
Required Skills & Qualifications: 
•    8-15 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development and support. 
•    Strong expertise in Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF objects). 
•    Experience in SAP AMS (Application Managed Services) projects with a focus on enhancements and bug fixes. 
•    Knowledge of SAP modules (SD, MM, FI, CO, PP, WM, etc.) and their integration points. 
•    Experience with OOPs ABAP, CDS views, ODATA, and Fiori is a plus. 
•    Familiarity with SAP HANA, S/4HANA, and BRF+ is an advantage. 
•    Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to work in shift-based support (if required).
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
