Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a global, cross-functional program across Engineering, IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security.
- Own the engineering software tools portfolio, including inventory, usage transparency, and governance
- Efficiently use multiple sources of information covering:
- Tools, vendors, contracts, renewals, and owners

- License entitlements vs. assignments vs. actual usage
- Drive cost optimization and value realization through:
- Engineering application rationalization and consolidation across 1000+ apps in all engineering segments (CAD, CAM, Simulation, CAE, PLM, GIS, and Engineering specific DevOps and Collab.)
- Following industry best practices – e.g. Identify shelfware/redundancy/consolidation/cost-saving opportunities within current portfolio. Vendor renegotiation and contract optimization, etc.

- Devising data-driven plans and leverage cross-functional capabilities to execute the plan.
- Define and implement governance including:
- Tool intake and approval processes
- Approved / restricted / deprecated tool standards
- Renewal cadence and vendor management

- Chargeback / show back mechanisms
- Lead strategic engagements with engineering software vendors and partner with Procurement on global agreements and pricing.
- Provide executive-level reporting on savings, risk, and portfolio health.
Required Experience
- 15+ years across Software Asset Management, Enterprise IT Operations Management, Engineering IT Applications Management, and Technology Services.
- Strong exposure to engineering software ecosystems across engineering industries:

- CAD, CAM, Simulation, CAE, PLM, GIS, and Engineering specific DevOps and Collab.
- Proven experience leading large-scale global optimization or transformation programs.
- Hands-on experience in license optimization and portfolio rationalization across engineering verticals.
- Solid understanding of major engineering software features, user personas, and licensing challenges.
