Job Title: Network Engineer – L3Role OverviewThe Network Engineer L3 is a senior technical role responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex enterprise network infrastructures. This role acts as the highest escalation point for network issues, leads major incidents, drives network architecture improvements, and provides technical guidance to L1/L2 teams.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Design & ArchitectureDesign, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network architectures.Lead network upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.Define network standards, best practices, and architecture documentation.Advanced Troubleshooting & EscalationsAct as the final escalation point for complex network incidents and outages.Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center, and cloud networks.Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes.Network Operations & OptimizationOptimize network performance, availability, and reliability.Monitor network health and proactively address risks and capacity issues.Drive automation and continuous improvement in network operations.Security & ComplianceImplement and manage network security controls (firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, segmentation).Collaborate with Security teams on threat mitigation and compliance requirements.Ensure adherence to security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.Cloud & Hybrid NetworkingDesign and support cloud and hybrid network connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP).Implement site-to-site VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, and SD-WAN solutions.Integrate on-prem and cloud networking securely and efficiently.Leadership & MentoringProvide technical leadership and mentoring to L1/L2 engineers.Review configurations, change requests, and implementation plans.Act as a subject matter expert (SME) during audits, reviews, and projects.Vendor & Stakeholder ManagementWork with network vendors and service providers for issue resolution and design guidance.Evaluate new networking technologies and tools.Coordinate with cross-functional teams on large initiatives.Required Skills & Qualifications7–12 years of experience in enterprise networking.Expert knowledge of:Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP)WAN technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN)Network Security (Firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS)Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar vendors.Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery designs.
