Job Title: Middleware Application Services Engineer – L2
Role Overview
The Middleware Application Services L2 Engineer supports, administers, and troubleshoots enterprise middleware platforms that enable communication between applications and backend systems. This role handles escalations from L1, ensures high availability of middleware services, and works closely with application, database, and infrastructure teams to maintain stable and secure environments.

Key Responsibilities
•    Provide Level 2 support for middleware platforms and resolve escalated incidents
•    Monitor middleware services to ensure availability, performance, and reliability
•    Administer and troubleshoot middleware components including:
o    Application Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat)
o    Integration / Messaging platforms (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka)
•    Perform middleware service restarts, deployments, and configuration changes
•    Troubleshoot issues related to:
o    Application connectivity
o    JVM performance (heap, GC, thread dumps)
o    Message queues and integration failures
•    Support production and non-production environments
•    Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities
•    Apply middleware patches, upgrades, and security fixes
•    Work with application teams during deployments and releases
•    Maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
•    Coordinate with vendors and OEM support for complex issues
•    Support on-call and shift operations as required

Required Skills & Experience
•    5-7 years of experience in Middleware / Application Support
•    Hands-on experience with one or more middleware technologies:
o    WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat
o    IBM MQ / ActiveMQ / Kafka
•    Strong understanding of Linux/Unix administration
•    Experience with log analysis, JVM tuning, and performance troubleshooting
•    Familiarity with deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines
•    Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, C
