Job Description

"Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Development & Enhancements: 
•    Develop, customize, and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements (user exits, BADIs), and forms (Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, SAP Script). 
•    Work on ODATA services, CDS views, and Fiori enhancements (if applicable). 
•    Implement custom logic using BAPIs, RFCs, BDCs, and ALV reports. 
•    Modify standard SAP programs as per business requirements while adhering to best practices. 
2. Bug Fixes & Issue Resolution: 
•    Analyze and resolve production support tickets related to ABAP programs. 
•    Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing custom programs, interfaces, and workflows. 
•    Provide timely fixes for incidents, defects, and performance bottlenecks. 
•    Collaborate with functional consultants (MM, SD, FI, PP, etc.) to understand business processes and resolve issues.
 

3. Support & Maintenance (AMS):
•    Handle day-to-day support activities in an AMS environment. 
•    Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
•    Monitor system performance and optimize ABAP code for better efficiency. 
•    Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and coding standards. 
4. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: 
•    Maintain proper documentation for custom developments, enhancements, and fixes. 
•    Prepare technical specifications (TDD) and unit test cases.
•    Provide knowledge transfer to junior team members and end-users as needed.
5. Integration & Upgrades:
•    Work on interfaces with third-party systems (IDocs, PI/PO, REST/SOAP APIs). 
•    Assist in SAP version upgrades, S/4HANA migrations, and patches (if applicable). 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
•    3-5 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience in AMS projects. 
•    Strong knowledge of ABAP OOPS, ALV, BAPIs, RFCs, BDCs, and enhancement frameworks. 
•    Experience in Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts. 
•    Familiarity with SAP Fiori, OData services, and CDS views (preferred). 
•    Good understanding of SAP modules (MM, SD, FI, PP, etc.) and their integration points. 
•    Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization. 
•    Ability to work in support projects with SLA-based ticket resolution. 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Knowledge of SAP HANA, ABAP on HANA, or S/4HANA. 
•    Exposure to BRF+, Workflow, or Web Dynpro ABAP.
•    certification in SAP ABAP is a plus.
