Install, configure, and upgrade IBM DB2 database servers and related tools.

Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning.

Perform database backup, restore, and recovery operations.

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions (HADR, replication, clustering).

Manage database security, including user roles, privileges, and access controls.

Perform database maintenance tasks such as reorganization, indexing, and statistics updates.

Troubleshoot database issues, incidents, and outages in a timely manner.

Support application teams with database design, query optimization, and deployment.

Implement and maintain database monitoring tools and automation scripts.

Ensure database compliance with organizational standards and policies.

Document database architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

3+ years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator.

Strong knowledge of IBM DB2 LUW and/or DB2 z/OS environments.

Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Strong experience in performance tuning and query optimization.

Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, and database design.

Experience with HADR, replication, and clustering technologies.

Familiarity with Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems.

Experience with monitoring tools and scripting (Shell, Python, or Perl).
