Job Description

Role Overview
An experienced L3 Desktop Support Analyst with strong troubleshooting skills and a foundational understanding of engineering applications. The role involves providing advanced technical support for specialized engineering software used in design, simulation, and analysis, ensuring smooth operations for end-users across multiple engineering disciplines.
•    Provide Level 3 support for desktop environments and specialized engineering applications such as: 
o    Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks)
o    Bentley (MicroStation, OpenPlant)
o    ETAP (Electrical Power Systems Analysis)
o    AVEVA (PDMS, E3D)
o    Other engineering and CAD/CAE tools as required.
•    Diagnose and resolve complex application issues, including installation, configuration, licensing, and performance optimization.
•    Collaborate with application vendors and internal engineering teams for escalations and advanced troubleshooting.
•    Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
•    Maintain documentation for application support processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
•    Assist in application upgrades, patches, and migrations ensuring minimal downtime.
•    Support integration of engineering applications with enterprise systems (e.g., document management, PLM tools).
•    Ensure compliance with IT security policies and software licensing agreements.
•    Provide technical guidance to L1/L2 teams and mentor them on engineering application support.
•    Experience with cloud-hosted engineering applications or remote access solutions. 
•    Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing systems (ServiceNow). 
•    Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Engineering background is a plus).
•    Experience: 4–6 years in desktop support with at least 2 years in engineering application support.
•    Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking basics, and virtualization concepts.
•    Hands-on experience with Autodesk, Bentley, ETAP, AVEVA or similar engineering applications.
•    Basic understanding of how engineering applications work (e.g., CAD modeling, simulation logic, project structures).
•    Familiarity with license management systems (FlexNet, Bentley SELECTserver, Autodesk Network License Manager).
•    Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
•    Excellent communication and documentation skills.
