Mid-Level MS SQL Server DBA – 24x7 Operations Support

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Mid-Level SQL Server DBA to support the day-to-day operations of our SQL database environment. This role is part of the Operations Team and will be responsible for managing SQL Server databases running on-premises and in Azure Cloud. The candidate will ensure database availability, operational efficiency, and participate in incident management, maintenance activities, and automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
•    Provide 24x7 operational support for SQL Server environments.
•    Monitor and maintain database health, capacity, backups, and performance.
•    Support and troubleshoot SQL Server replication (transactional/snapshot).
•    Perform routine performance tuning (PT) and query optimization.
•    Participate in database upgrades and migrations from on-prem to Azure Cloud (IaaS/PaaS).
•    Assist in implementing and supporting high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) setups like Always On.
•    Perform patching, routine maintenance, and participate in DR drills.
•    Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to support production stability.
•    Follow ITIL-aligned change, incident, and problem management processes.
Technical Skills Required:
•    Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server 2014 to 2019/2022.
•    Working knowledge of SQL replication, SQL Profiler, execution plans, and index optimization.
•    Awareness of upgrades and cloud migrations (on-prem to Azure SQL, Managed Instances, or VM-based SQL).
•    Experience with PowerShell and T-SQL scripting.
•    Exposure to Azure services, SQL Database PaaS, and IaaS-based deployments.
•    Familiarity with monitoring tools like Redgate, SentryOne, or SolarWinds DPA.
•    Basic understanding of cloud storage, networking, and VM infrastructure.
•    Comfortable with ITSM and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
•    Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or MCSA/MCSE (preferred).
